WELCOME IN THE TRUFFLE MUSEUM OF THE SAMMINIAESI HILLS
THE MUSEUM
The Truffle Museum of the Samminiatesi Hills retraces the origin of the land where the world's biggest truffles are born.
The most fruitful truffle area in Tuscany has its heart in San Miniato. The area identified by the regional law L.R. 50/1995 with the name “Colline Samminiatesi” (Samminiatesi Hills) stretches out in the territory where the search and extraction of white truffles have developed for over a century. This area embraces 30 municipalities between Pisa and Florence and is delimited by the Era, Elsa, and Egola rivers.

The Samminiatesi Hills is a generous land that bears truffles for twelve months. Here the world's largest truffles are born.
WORLD RECORDS
The white truffle discovered in 1954 gets on the podium as the largest truffle in the world ever found. The awarded life-size reproductions are on display in the museum.
TWO-CENTURY-LONG TRADITION
The history of truffle hunters retraces the journey of migrant workers from Romagna who found in the Samminiatesi Hills their new home and business.
INTERACTIVE MUSEUM
Among plants and natural noises, the visitors interact with objects of the truffle hunter experience for a round immersion in the Epic of the truffle.
